I started reading Lonely Planet Traveller when I lived in York in the UK. It was perfect escapism for me to buy a copy of the magazine and read through it at a coffee shop, wondering if I would ever have adventures comparable to those I was reading about.
It wasn't that York and Yorkshire isn't a great place to visit, but it was my home, and I had a craving to get out of that comfort zone to explore further out. Now living in Alberta in Canada I have the Rockies as my playground, and I truly feel as if I am living those dreams now.
This photo of Rundle Mountain at Vermillion Lakes in Banff National Park was chosen to be featured on a special edition of Lonely Planet Traveller's 100th edition. I took it during a sunset one Monday evening. It feels very gratifying that I am now in a position to share my adventures and hopefully inspire people who dream of change as I did back in York.
